Katherine Mills Rymer was selected by Synthesis Gallery — Berlin's genre-defining new media institution — to exhibit in Unstable Objects, presented online on New Art City and physically at Molt, Tempelhofer Ufer, Berlin. The exhibition brought together artists working at the intersection of image instability, GAN, glitch and moving image, drawing on art historian Valentina Tanni's conception of images as unstable objects — made, sent, distorted and manipulated by human and non-human agents. Katherine showed alongside Casey Kauffmann, Nicoleta Mures and Romain Thibault. Synthesis has been regularly selected for Berlin Art Week and Transmediale/Vorspiel since its founding in 2017.
